Verizon is providing its customers with $100 million Class Action Settlement compensation in 2024. The deadline for filing nominations for the settlement compensation was 15th of April 2024. In response to a lawsuit filed against the tech giant, a telecom service provider, the company finally agreed to pay the settlement fee to its customers. The company and the customers reached the agreement in 2023. And the settlement compensation will be provided in 2024. Though the application window is closed now you cannot file new nominations, you can reach to the Verizon administration to share your grievances. The Lawsuit contended that the Verizon customers with certain wireless service plans were charged higher and inordinate rates than it was promised or advertised by the company when the customers were buying suitable plans.

The customers who took post paid mobile services from the tech giant between 2016 and 2023 will be provided with the compensation charges. As in the lawsuit filed in a New Jersey court, it was mentioned that some of the customers who were enrolled for post paid services were mistakenly charged heavy administrative fees and irrelevant service and maintenance charges.If you meet the eligibility criteria, you will be getting the settlement payment amounts from the Verizon. Initially the tech company charged its customers with 40 cents per month for administrative purposes. This fee was charged in 2005 after more than 15 years, in 2022, the company started charging its customers with $3.30 per month for each line.
This inordinate fee for maintaining administrative cost was not disclosed to the customers when they chose specific plans catering to their needs. And once at the end of the month, the services are delivered; the customers were sent bills to pay including such charges. Though the Verizon argued that the fee used to cover up the costs related with cell site rents and maintenance along with covering other operational expenses, the customers filed lawsuit stating that they were not informed when they were opting for the plans. This fee kept them in dark and they were without their knowledge. The plaintiffs said that the fee was misleading because it was not disclosed as per the advertised details about the relevant plans. They were charged in deceptive and unfair manner. And then they demand compensation for the damages.

What does Verizon Say about Comments Made by Plaintiffs?
The company has been refuting the comment made by the plaintiffs. It does not agree with the comments that the plaintiffs are making about the “advertised and promised” plans.
